Pre & Post Care for Lash Extensions
Pre-Care Instructions
Come to your appointment without any eye makeup. Clean lashes equal longer retention time.
Avoid using waterproof mascara 2-3 days prior as it can leave a residue that may prevent lashes from adhering properly.
Avoid using oil-based products around the eye area before your appointment.
Don’t curl your lashes before your appointment.
If you have lash extensions currently from another salon, they may need to be removed before applying a new set. (*Lash removal fee: $20 with extensions.)
We do not “FILL IN” other salon’s work. All new appointments will be considered a new set with a thorough consultation.
Use the restroom right before. You will be laying down for about 1 - 1.5 hours for the appointment.
Bring music or a podcast to listen to! (Or simply take a quick beauty nap!)
Wear your glasses or remove your contacts before your appointment. We do provide solutions and cases if needed.
Brides: We suggest that you get your full set of lash extensions applied at least a month ahead and then schedule one to two fill-in appointments before your wedding so that adjustments can be made and you get the exact look you want for your big day. Please don’t get extensions put on for the first time right before your wedding in case they are not exactly what you are envisioning or in case you have any type of reaction!
Post-Care Instructions
Don’t get your lash extensions wet for full 24 hours.
Avoid hot showers (with steam), saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, or tanning beds for 24-48 hours.
Try to sleep on your back to avoid sleeping on the lashes resulting in them falling out quicker.
Do not pull, twist or rub your lashes especially for the first 24 hours (or at all if possible).
Keep your lashes clean by splashing water 1-2 times per day. (Never rub them!) Especially after a workout or wearing makeup, use a gentle foaming cleanser or oil-free makeup remover to wash away any dirt and excessive oil.
Rinse your lashes as quickly as possible after crying, sweating, or being exposed to saltwater to avoid salt build-up.
Brush lashes gently as needed with the lash wand provided to you after your appointment. Don’t over brush your lashes. Be gentle! Never brush them down.
NO OIL around the lashes. This includes makeup removers, eye creams & face wash. This will help with your lash retention.
Do not use mascara or eyeliner. Any makeup that sits on your lash line will cause quicker fallout.
NEVER manually curl or perm your lash extensions.
Avoid cotton around your eyes, it will act like velcro to your lashes.
