Pre & Post Care for Eyeline Enhancement
Pre-Care Instructions
Remove eyelash extensions at least one week before your appointment.
Stop using Latisse or any lash growth serums with active ingredients (EXCLUDING THE MAXKERA by Nayoung) for a minimum of 2 weeks before the procedure.
NO lash tinting, lifting, perming, or curling for at least one week before your appointment.
If you wear contact lenses, do not wear them to your appointment. Refrain from wearing them for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
NO Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Advil/Ibuprofen for 48 hours before your procedure.
Avoid Fish Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, Nutritional Shakes, and "Hair, Skin, Nail" supplements for at least 2 weeks before your appointment.
Accutane Users: You must be off Accutane for at least 6 months before any semi-permanent makeup procedure, as it significantly affects skin sensitivity and healing.
Discontinue Retin-A, Retinol, Vitamin C, Exfoliators such as AHA/BHA, and acidic products on the eye area for at least 2 weeks before your appointment. These products increase skin turnover, leading to irritation and poor pigment retention.
NO alcohol or caffeine (including decaf coffee & tea) 48 hours before your procedure.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning on your face for at least 2 weeks before your appointment.
Consider taking Arnica and/or Bromelain one week before your procedure to help minimize swelling and bruising.
Please note: You may experience increased sensitivity during your menstrual cycle.
Post-Care Instructions
Expect moderate swelling for 1 to 3 days following the eyeliner procedure. The pigment will initially appear darker and fade by approximately 20-50% in the first two weeks. This is due to skin regeneration and is a normal part of the healing process. Healed eyeliner can fade up to 50%, which is why we include a 10-week touch-up session in the initial eyeliner session.
Keep your lash line dry for the first 24 hours.
Clean your eyes twice daily (morning and evening) with a clean Q-tip and apply the provided ointment.
Apply ointment at least 4 hours before bed in the evening.
Use lubricating eye drops if your eyes feel dry or irritated.
Avoid excessive sun exposureβwear sunglasses if needed.
If you experience swelling, apply a clean ice pack with a protective barrier for the first 48 hours. If swelling worsens, take an over-the-counter allergy medication to help reduce inflammation.
DO NOT rub your eyes! This is crucial to prevent pigment migration.
DO NOT pick, peel, or scratch as this can cause uneven pigment, scarring, and infections.
Avoid wearing contact lenses for 24-48 hours after the procedure.
No eye makeup for at least 7 days.
No lash treatments (lifting, tinting, perming, or extensions) for 2-3 weeks.
Avoid retinoids, retinol, AHAs, BHAs, exfoliating, or acidic products near the treatment area.
No swimming, saunas, hot baths, hot yoga or facials for at least 2 weeks to prevent infections.
Protect Your Investment!
The Pre and Post-Care for the eyeliner above will influence how quickly or slowly you heal. Factors such as mature age, poor diet, stress, smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, general health, and sleep or fatigue play a crucial role. The more fatigued you are, the weaker your immune system becomes, making infections more likely to occur. We strongly advise you to get plenty of rest and drink lots of water to stay hydrated prior to the procedure.
Exposure to the sun and tanning beds will cause premature fading and discoloration of the pigment.
To enhance sun protection, wear hats and sunglasses and seek shade!
Annual touch-ups may be needed to maintain your results.
Certain skin care products and services will cause premature fading of your cosmetic tattoo and may also alter the pigment color.
Frequent chlorine swimmers, please apply a barrier layer of Vaseline over your tattoo prior to swimming to prevent premature fading.
